Azerbaijan, UNAOC discuss prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Miguel Ángel Moratinos on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The meeting focused on issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNAOC, as well as the current situation in the region.
Expressing satisfaction with the useful cooperation agenda on promoting intercultural dialogue between Azerbaijan and UNAOC, Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the importance of the joint projects implemented in this regard, including the Intercultural Dialogue Forum organized as part of the Baku process.
During the meeting, the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the steps taken towards the reintegration of Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region into the society was standing high on the agenda.
Miguel Angel Moratinos underlined UNAOC's interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan, which is considered one of the exemplary countries for intercultural dialogue with its model of multiculturalism. He also expressed satisfaction with the advancement of the reintegration process with the Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region.
The two also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
