AZERBAIJANI PERFORMS POWERS OF AMBASSADOR OF FRANCE
Alexis Shahtakhtinsky, well knowing French, Russian languages and little bit Azerbaijan, has acquired specialties of the jurist, political scientist and the Orientalist, and from 1993 began the activity as the diplomat. Alexis, whom during this period the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France has awarded the rank of adviser, worked as the first secretary of embassy of France in Croatia, the head of the Information bureau of NATO on Russia in Moscow, the head of mission of this structure in Kosovo, and in February 2001, has been appointed the adviser of embassy of France in Belarus. Since 2003, he performs powers of the ambassador.
Alexis does not forget the roots, he repeatedly visited Azerbaijan. In 1986, together with father Jahangir-Kamal for the first time has arrived in Baku, and within two months stayed with the relatives, known chemist - scientific Habibulla Shahtakhtinsky. In 1991, he has visited Nakhchivan, has visited native village Shahtakhty, listened to memoirs of the old inhabitants of village on great-grandfather Ali Bey and grandfather Mahammed Bey.
Alexis was proud of visiting his Motherland of the great-grandfathers, and many times met our national leader, great President Heydar Aliyev and in our country, and in France. He especially emphasizes, that these meetings have made on him very deep impression.
Alexis always is proud of that he is an Azerbaijani irrespective of where and in what post he works.
