Azerbaijani rower reaches semi-final of World Championship

Baku, July 13 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani representative in World Rowing Championship in Lithuania Alexander Alexandrov has reached semi-final of the tournament.

The athlete first attended the 2000 meters event qualifying competition and finished the race on the first place with the result 5 minutes 5, 03 seconds. The athlete has passed ahead his nearest competitor from Norway by the 9, 08 seconds.

The Azeri rower competed successfully in the second competition also. Alexander gained first place with the 7 minutes 11, 07 seconds. The rower left behind his closest rival Andre Redr (Slovakia) by the 4, 12 seconds.

The semi-final competitions will be held on 14th and the final on 15th of July.

Azerbaijani rower Alexander Alexandrov also will attend the London-2012 Summer Olympic Games.
