AZERBAIJANI STUDENTS WIN GLOBAL MILLENNIUM PRIZE IN MEXICO
Five Azerbaijani students Salimova Guiljahan (sustainable development), Sultanova Narmin (democratization), Hagverdiyev Farid (information technology), Khalilov Rashad and Nabiyeva Farida (both energy) won the Global Millennium Prize in Mexico held under the aegis of the World Federation of UN Associations (WFUNA) Millennium Project, AZERTAC citing to www.globalmillenniumprize.org said.
During the awards ceremony, letter of congratulation of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as well as video congratulation of Mexico’s first lady Margarita Zavala were read out.
Head of WFUNA, prof. Jerome Glenn congratulated head of the project’s Baku branch (www.futurestudies.az) Reyhan Huseynova adding that it was the first time that five students from one country have won the competition. “It is great achievement”, said Mr. Glenn.
The event was broadly covered in Mexico’s mass media.
