Azerbaijani tar music weaves its magic in Rome's "Museum Night"

A captivating performance of Azerbaijani music enchanted audiences in Rome, Italy, during the city's International Museum Night (Notte dei Musei 2025).
The "Sala Santa Rita" hall in central Rome, with support from the Cultural Center under the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy, hosted the event. Gulnar Tagizadeh, Deputy Director of the Center, introduced the musicians, followed by remarks from Rashad Aslanov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Italy. Ambassador Aslanov highlighted that the performance was part of the "Museum Night 2025," organized by the Municipality of Rome, expressing his confidence that the unique sounds of Azerbaijan's musical heritage would delight attendees.
"A Magical Night of Azerbaijani Tar," the two-part program, featured renowned musicians Shahriyar Imanov (tar), Shukur Aliyev (percussion), and Ilgar Aliyev (keyboard). They masterfully blended traditional and contemporary elements of Azerbaijani music, as well as performing selections from world music, to enthusiastic applause from the capital's residents and visitors.
Azerbaijan has now participated in the annual "Museum Night" for three years. Rome's 15th iteration of the event aims to connect art and culture, offering a unique celebration of cultural heritage for its citizens.
