Azerbaijani, Ukrainian FMs meet in New York

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin in New York.

During the meeting, the sides had exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine and the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov informed about the negotiations over the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and stressed that the conflict must only be resolved on the basis of the norms and principles of international law, in particular the respect for internationally recognized borders, territorial integrity and sovereignty of states.

FM Mammadyarov noted the important role of the cooperation within GUAM in the development of relations among regional countries and mentioned the favorable opportunities for the cooperation in humanitarian and economic fields within the organization.
