Azerbaijan`s Energy Minister meets with OPEC Secretary General

Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister, met with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Technical Committee on the Charter of Cooperation (CoC) held in Baku.
During the meeting, the sides hailed the outcomes of cooperation within the OPEC+ framework, underscoring the Charter of Cooperation as an important platform for further expanding this successful partnership.
The Secretary General highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s role as a reliable and constructive partner within the OPEC+ framework and expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his continued support of this cooperation. He noted that the inaugural Technical Committee meeting held in Baku marks an important milestone in further deepening multilateral cooperation under the Charter of Cooperation.
Minister Parviz Shahbazov highlighted that the dialogue and cooperation fostered through the OPEC+ platform have played a significant role in Azerbaijan’s notable achievements in the field of renewable energy. It was noted that the regular engagement among ministers and the atmosphere of mutual trust have made an important contribution to expanding Azerbaijan’s partnerships with international energy companies, including through the implementation of large-scale renewable energy projects.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the future prospects of OPEC+ cooperation, the expansion of partnerships among participating countries into new areas, and the more effective realization of the potential of the Charter of Cooperation.
