AZERBAIJAN’S MINISTER FOR YOUTH AND SPORTS MEETS HIS INDIAN COUNTERPART
Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports, met Wednesday with Mani Shankar Aiyar, India`s Cabinet Minister for Panchayati Raj, Youth Affairs, Sports and Development of North East region.
Minister Rahimov spoke about deep historical cultural and economic relations between Azerbaijan and India, stressing importance of boosting cooperation in the youth and sports field.
He said Azerbaijan is ready to share its experience in the above-mentioned fields where the country has obtained great achievements due to state care.
Mr. Rahimov put forwarded to his Indian counterpart several proposals as exchange of experience, conducting joint trainings of sportsmen of both countries and organizing days of culture with participation of the countries’ youth.
The Indian Minister, for his part, talked about the works carried out in the field of youth and sports in his country.
He said his country is ready to use Azerbaijan’s experience in youth policy and sports. For this purpose, the Indian minister expressed his intention to invite Azerbaijani specialists to his country.
Within the frameworks of the visit, the visitor familiarized himself with Azerbaijan’s Shamakhy Olympic Sports Complex. He said Azerbaijan’s Olympic movement impressed on him very much.
Mr. Shankar Aiyar invited his Azerbaijani counterpart to the youth festival to be held the next year in India.
