Azerbaijan`s think tank delegation visits China
Beijing, January 22 (AZERTAC). A delegation of the Strategic Studies Center of Azerbaijan is continuing its trip to China. The delegation led by its director Farhad Mammadov visited the Modern International Relations Academy and met with head of the think-tank and its experts. Both institutions signed a memorandum on cooperation
During the meeting the sides discussed development of fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and China and the ways of strengthening cooperation between both countries` think tanks.
He noted national leader Heydar Aliyev made his visit to China in 1994 where he signed important cooperation documents. Cementing cooperation with China is in focus of President Ilham Aliyev`s attention.
Farhad Mammadov pointed out that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict continues to be an impediment to development of not only Azerbaijan but also the South Caucasus region as a whole.
Later on, Center`s director Farhad Mammadov and employee of the center Rashad Karimov visited the State Council`s Development Studies Center`s European and Asian Social Development Institute. The meeting there discussed development of Azerbaijan-China cooperation, geopolitical issues.
Azerbaijani ambassador Latif Gandilov was present at both meetings.
Farhad Mammadov also gave an interview to China`s CCTV. He expressed hope that Armenia would respect the UN Security Council resolutions. He expressed regret that OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have not yet its used their pressure mechanisms.
Mammadov expressed regret over no concrete steps to force the aggressor to obey to UN Security Council resolutions.
