AZERI AMBASSADOR MEETS AFGHAN FM
Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Pakistan and Afghanistan Eynulla Madatli met Wednesday with Afghan minister of foreign affairs Rangin Dadfar Spanta in Kabul, the Embassy said.
Madatli presented Azerbaijan`s Charge D`affaires in Kabul Ibrahim Gafarov to the Afghan minister.
Dr. Spanta highly praised the creation of the Azeri diplomatic representation in Afghanistan.
He expressed satisfaction with development of cultural relations between the two states.
The Afghan foreign minister said he believes Afghanistan and Azerbaijan will develop their economic, political and cultural cooperation within the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Madatli stressed the Azeri government places particular emphasis on cooperation with Afghanistan.
The envoy said the number of the Azerbaijani peacekeepers in Afghanistan has recently doubled.
Eynulla Madatli expressed gratitude to Afghan leadership for supporting the UN General Assembly`s resolution on the situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
Rangin Dadfar Spanta stressed Afghanistan will always support Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
The Afghan Minister invited his Azeri counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov to an official visit to Kabul.
Director of Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Mohammad Fazel Saifi and Spokesperson and Director General of Information Division of the Ministry Sultan Ahmad Bahin were also present at the event.
Later the same day, the Azeri ambassador met with some officials of the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Azeri peacekeepers.
