Baku hosts 9th General Assembly of ISSF

The 9th General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) has today been held in Baku.
The event was attended by about 90 representatives from more than 40 countries.
Members of ISSF, as well as Secretary General of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee Prince Abdulhakim bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade, Executive Director of the Youth Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Hajiyev, member of the ISSF Executive Committee Konul Nurullayeva attended the event.
Chairing the event, ISSF Secretary General Faisal Abdulaziz Al Nassar thanked the Azerbaijani government and the National Olympic Committee and Youth and Sports Ministry for the excellent organization of the General Assembly.
Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov expressed confidence that the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Baku would mark “unforgettable moments” for athletes.
The Minister noted that more than 5,000 athletes and 1500 delegates would participate in the Games.
Vice President of ISSF Hamad Kalkaba Malboum thanked President Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Games Mehriban Aliyeva for their contribution to the organization of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
Konul Nurullayeva then made a report on the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in 2017.
The event also featured demonstration of a promotional video about Baku-2015 first European Games.
