Baku hosts third international book fair
Baku, September 23 (AZERTAC). The third International Book Fair dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s independence has today started in Baku. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The Fair is attended by 120 local, 35 foreign representatives of printing and polygraphy businesses.
In his opening remarks, Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev praised Baki`s hosting such an important event.
The Book Fair is expected to contribute to the promotion of book publishing industry in Azerbaijan, and local publishers will gain an opportunity to familiarize themselves with experiences in foreign countries. The event will also create a chance to realize joint projects.
The Fair demonstrates books and printing products of the US, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Hungary, Macedonia, Slovakia, Belarus, Latvia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries` enterprises.
The three-day event will feature book presentations, meetings with well-known writers, symposiums and other activities.
The Book Fair will end on September 25.
