BAKU TO HOST 2nd INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CHESS TOURNAMENT
Baku will host the second International Women’s Chess Tournament September 3-12, the Azerbaijan Chess Federation said.
The competition will see participation of ten chess players: Swedish Pia Cramling, Bulgarian Antoaneta Stefanova, Polish Monika Socko, Lithuanian Viktoria Chmilite, Georgian Leyla Javakhishvili, Ukrainian Ekaterina Lakhno, French Sophie Milliet and three Azerbaijani players Ilaha Kadimova, Firuza Valikhanli and Nargiz Umudova.
The prize fund of the competition is $16,000.
The first tournament was held in Shaki in 2005.
