BILL “ON MAIL SERVICE” UNDER CONSIDERATION AT PARLIAMENT
The bills “On Mail Service” and “On Cost of Living” were discussed in the second reading at the sitting, AzerTAj correspondent reported.
Advisor of the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies on post-office Novruz Mammadov reported that remarks and proposals put forward during the first reading were taken into consideration and studied by the Ministry and working group. However, there are still some arguable points.
Novruz Mammadov protested against the free use of postal service by enlisted servicemen and their families. According to him, the Ministry will lose 500 million manat on it. Therefore, the Ministry prefers to provide a free mail service only to active servicemen.
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense and deputies opposed this proposal, while Ministry of Finance protested item 5.1.1 of the paragraph 5. Since the post-offices are working on self-supporting basis they might not be given aid from the budget, it said.
In conclusion, deputies decided to bring these documents to Milli Majlis’s consideration.
