CHAIRMAN OF AZERBAIJAN STATE CUSTOMS COMMITTEE ATTENDS WCO MEETING
Baku, April 2 (AZERTAC). Chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev participated in an annual meeting of the Directors General of the European region of World Customs Organisation (WCO) held in Macedonian city of Ohrid.
The event brought together representatives of 52 countries from Europe and Asia, including WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya, as well as top officials of the European Commission and the Macedonian government.
The conference agenda included discussions over development of the customs organizations in the 21st century and the WCO activities related to the challenges the Customs Services of the European Region face.
The WCO, established in 1952 as the Customs Co-operation Council (CCC), is an independent intergovernmental structure with the mission to enhance the effectiveness of the customs administrations.
