CIS ENERGY SPECIALISTS SHOW KEEN INTEREST IN AZERBAIJAN ENERGY SYSTEM
Head of the Electric Energy Systems of Russia Anatoliy Chubais presiding at the meeting, especially emphasized the nessecity to joinin the energy systems to operate in parallel mode. With this respect, he cited as an example the Russian -Azerbaijan relations in this sphere. According to Mr. Chubays, his meetings with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and government officials in Baku had had a great importance for “realization of global programs.” He put particular emphasis to the projects on establishment of energy corridors Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia-Georgia with Turkey in perspective.

In the framework of the event, a scientific-practice conference “Problems of Effective Use of Hydro-energy Resources in the Countries of Commonwealth and Provision Safety Exploitation of Hydro- technical Units” was held to discuss problems of hydro energy industry, ways of their solving, outline prospects of development and concrete steps for deepening cooperation between CIS states.
