A conference dealing with the establishment of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis took place in Berlin, April 17.

The purpose is to strengthen the ties of our compatriots residing in Europe with their historical homeland, provide spiritual, political unity and solidarity among the world Azerbaijanis, coordinate activity of Azerbaijani communities and associations in the region, press-service of the State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad said.

The constituent conference will bring together Diaspora organizations from France, Austria, Germany, Czech, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, Poland, Denmark, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Finland, Turkey, Russia, Spain, Romania, and Baltic States etc. The first part of the conference will be devoted to reports on today’s realities of Azerbaijan while the second part will deal with development perspectives of Azerbaijani Diaspora.

The congress, its coordinating secretariat and headquarters located in Berlin will be registered in the Federal Republic of Germany.
