DAY OF REPUBLIC MARKED IN ITALY
The visitors with interest have toured exhibition of the national souvenirs organized here, pictures, books, brochures and booklets on Azerbaijan. Warmly was cheered the concert from products of the Italian and Azerbaijan composers in performance of the graduate of the Baku Musical Academy living now in the USA, our young compatriot, talented musician Sabina Rakcheeva.
The Charge d'affaire of embassy Bayram Hasanov in interview to the local press, Anadolu Agency of Turkey, the Russian ITAR-TASS has told about creation of the Democratic Republic first in the Islamic East, the actions carried out during this period, that after restoration of the state independence, the Azerbaijan people has entered a new stage of democracy and progress. B. Hasanov has dwelt on prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy. Having noted, that Italy is one of the first countries which have recognized independence of Azerbaijan, he has emphasized, that after restoration by Republic of the sovereignty, there began a new stage of development of cooperation between our states. Especially having noted contributions of our national leader in development of the Azerbaijan-Italia relations, B. Hasanov has emphasized, that official visit of President Heydar Aliyev to Italy on September, 25-28, 1997 was historical event, that this visit has defined prospects of relations between our countries, has laid ground for very strong basis of development of political, economic and cultural relations of the two states.
Then, he spoke of opportunities of cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan in economic sphere, in particular, in the field of power, on the investments enclosed last years in economy of our country, and also forthcoming investments, the stable investment environment, realization in our Republic of the world's largest power project, the statement of political stability, continuation of construction in the country of a modern, democratic society.
The Charge d'affaires has emphasized, that the further intensification of the Azerbaijan-Italia business cooperation has great prospects, it would not only be equitable to interests of our countries, but also as a whole create opportunity for the all-European economic integration.
Having noted, that the policy of our country, our national leader Heydar Aliyev consists in integration into the European family, ye has emphasized, that this course today successfully is continued with by his worthy successor President Ilham Aliyev.
Besides, on the eve of Day of Republic, it is expected display on the Italian TV of documentary “Baku - secrets of ancient fires”, narrating about sights, history, customs and traditions of Azerbaijan people.
