ESTONIAN DELEGATION MEETS MM DEPUTIES
Chair of the Milli Majlis Standing Commission on international and inter-parliamentary relations Samad Seyidov pointed to steady development of links between the two countries, and a special role in this process, according to him, are played by the friendship groups.
Mr. Seyidov noted as well that his country supports Estonia’s joining NATO and the European Union as Azerbaijan itself has chosen the same way. Opposing the application of double standards, Estonia has won a certain image in the international arena, he said. The Chair appreciated the fact that Estonia supports Azerbaijan in regard with the resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, and expressed confidence in invariability of this policy.
The, head of the Azerbaijan-Estonia friendship group Anar Mammadkhanov told of the activities of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups.
Head of the delegation and the Estonia-Azerbaijan friendship Group Eldar Efendiyev noted that Estonia is very interested in development of relations with Azerbaijan. The forthcoming visit of the countries’ various official circles to Azerbaijan is a graphic evidence of this, he said.
According to Mr. Efendiyev, Estonia welcomes Azerbaijan’s integration into Europe and is ready to render every assistance to Azerbaijan in this business.
During the meeting, its participants held an exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
