European deputies issue statement on Azerbaijani elections

The group of the European national parliamentarians has issued a statement on the Azerbaijani parliamentary election held on November 1.
According to the members of the delegation, the voting process in the polling stations was well organized. The members of delegation from various political parties expressed hope that the election will pave the way for progress in the strengthening of democracy in Azerbaijan.
The Election Monitoring Group expressed regret that the European Parliament and OSCE have not sent a mission to observe the elections in Azerbaijan.
The delegation came to a conclusion that the election process was held in accordance with the basic democratic standards and principles.
The Election Monitoring Group comprises 31 deputies representing 12 European countries.
