Expert: Importance of energy in Caspian region will not reduce

“Today the world is experiencing an economic turbulence. This is not a crisis, but, nevertheless, can be treated as dependence on the economy,” Executive Director of the North-South Political Science Center Yulia Yakusheva has told AZERTAC on the sidelines of the 5th International Conference "Caspian paradigm / SCO Energy Forum" in Aktau, Kazakhstan. “The importance of energy in the Caspian region will not reduce, and the role of energy cooperation will grow.” Yakusheva said that steep decline in oil prices means new challenges for oil-exporting countries like Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
“Therefore, the cooperation and anti-crisis strategy for the prevention of the negative trends in the economy should be considered by all sides as part of the integration,” she added.
