A sitting of the organizing committee taken place at the National Olympic Committee /NOC/ April 16 was devoted to the preparation works for the final competitions of the fourth republican teenager games organized by the NOC and Republican Confederation of Trade Unions. Representatives of organizer-bodies, sport federations and societies attended the sitting.

The Games were initiated in 1998. The opening ceremony was attended by nationwide leader, President Heydar Aliyev and addressed by the NOC President Ilham Aliyev. Abulfaz Garayev stressed the rising interest of the young generation for the Games.

The present games started in January got through district, province and zone competitions. Deputy Minister Asif Asgarov said that the number of participants increase with every passing year. The competitions are conducted in 16 kinds of sports. The opening ceremony will take place May 11 at the Sport Complex after Heydar Aliyev.
