FIRST LADY MRS. MEHRIBAN ALIYEVA VISITS SHAMAKHI PROVINCE
She was informed that the school has 516 pupils, most of them from poor families.
After viewing the classrooms, computer room, dining-hall, library and gymnasium Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed her satisfaction with the conditions created here.
The first lady also viewed the photo-stands reflecting the life and activity of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev’s meetings in Shamakhi as well as the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and state of the school before and after the overhaul.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva stressed that 25 boarding schools and kindergartens have been overhauled so far at the expense of the Foundation, adding this work will be further continued.
Then, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation addressed the teaching staff and pupils of the school as well as local residents:
“It makes me glad that the children will go to such schools, and teachers will have favorable conditions here. This is also what our President wants and aims for. You have already such conditions. Work harder, keep clean your school and teach the pupils the same”.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva congratulated the gathered on the start of the new academic year, and then had her photo taken with them.
The first lady was presented a photo album consisting of photographs of her visits to Shamakhi together with President Ilham Aliyev, the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as well as the images of Shamakhi’s cultural and historic monuments.
Then, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva visited the building, former boarding school’s dormitory, which after the major repair became a home to sixteen young families of internally displaced persons.
After viewing the apartments the first lady expressed her satisfaction with the conditions created here.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva stressed President Ilham Aliyev is doing his best to create the conditions for internally displaced persons to return to their homeland, adding she believes these efforts will be a success.
The UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador had her photo taken with the inmates of the new apartments.
Then, she visited a 160-seat school in Sagyan village, which has also been overhauled at the expense of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
After familiarizing herself with the photo-stand reflecting the projects implemented by the Foundation, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva viewed the classrooms, library and computer room.
Then the first lady had a conversation with the school’s teaching staff and pupils as well as local residents.
She congratulated them with the opening of the new school, and conveyed the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev to all the Shamaki residents.
