FOREIGN TRADE TURNOVER ON RISE

Juridical and natural persons of Azerbaijan have established trade links with 112 countries for six months 2004. The volume of foreign trade turnover totaled $2,8 billion for this period including export of $1,3 billion and import of $1,5 billion. In comparison with first half a year of 2003, the volume of foreign trade turnover went up 33,7 percent while export - 33,8 percent, import - 33,6 percent.

36,2 percent of export-import operations fell to the share of European Union countries, 31,9 percent - CIS countries, 31,9 percent - other countries.53,6 percent of the overall turnover falls the share of European countries, 42,6 percent - Asian countries, 3,0 percent - America, 0,6 percent - African countries, 0,2 percent - Oceania. Most of foreing trade operations were carried out with Italy, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, England, Turkey, Israel, Iran, China, Germany, Georgia, Ukraine, USA and France.
