FOURTH MEETING OF PERMANENT CONFERENCE OF CIS FINANCE MINISTERS HELD IN MOSCOW
Baku, April 2 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Finance Minister Samir Sharifov participated in the fourth meeting of permanent conference of CIS Finance Ministers held in Moscow.
Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin called on his colleagues to strengthen mutual cooperation and financial support in commerce and finance. He said that CIS states experienced an unprecedented slump in the Gross Domestic Product in 2009.
“On the average GDP reduced by 7.5%, export by 46% and import by 43.5%. The reactions of CIS economies to the crisis were different. The economies of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Armenia fell, while the economies of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan posted a certain growth,” he said.
Plan of joint measures on the state of national economies of CIS members, stabilization of their financial systems and elimination of global economic crisis were discussed at the session. The plan was approved at the Chisinau summit of CIS heads of state in October and confirmed at the Yalta meeting of the heads of government in November.
