France`s Jewish magazine posts article on Azerbaijan
Baku, January 21 (AZERTAC). A delegation of the Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions (GRIF) made a trip to Azerbaijan in November 2012.
They held meetings at some governmental agencies and travelled to visit the Jewish-populated Krasnaya Sloboda district in Guba.
Upon returning home, GRIF Deputy Chairman Jacque Pier Allalie published a number of articles on Azerbaijan in the December issue of the Cahiers Bernard lazare, official magazine of the France-Israel Diaspora. In his article "Azerbaijani Jews from Baku to Guba", he provided information about Azerbaijan, its location and population. He touched upon national minorities including Jews living in Azerbaijan.
Allalie pointed out construction of three synagogues in Baku was funded by the state. He informed about two Jewish schools in Baku.
The article narrated on the Krasnaya Sloboda district and Jews living there.
He said that Jews along with Azerbaijanis also lie buried in the mass grave in Guba. They were killed by Armenian-bolshevik troops.
The deputy chairman touched upon a meeting with Israel`s ambassador Rafael Harpas. He noted Azerbaijan satisfies 40% of Israel`s energy needs.
