FRENCH EMBASSY HOLDS ADVANCED TRAINING FOR CUSTOMS AND FRONTIER OFFICIALS
Ambassador of France Shantal Poiret noted the importance of the training course as a kind of experience exchange, and described the event as a continuation of the last year Baku seminar for customs and frontier officials. She also announced that the next training courses would be held in Paris.
Having thanking the Ambassador for the assistance in organization of the course, first deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Major-General Aydin Aliyev reminded that France had been the first country officially visited by Head of State Ilham Aliyev in President capacity. This fact, according to him, fostered development of Azerbaijan-French cooperation, whose foundation had been laid by nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
He noted as well that after September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States, every country must take security measures to enhance its frontiers, at airports in particular, and highly appraised significance of experience exchange between Azerbaijani and French specialists.
