HDI SUSTAINABLE IN AZERBAIJAN

Surveys conducted by the UNDP show that human development index /HDI/ of Azerbaijan is stable. HDI is measured in three indexes - education, life expectancy, GDP per capita.

Chairman of the Milli Majlis permanent commission on science and education Shahlar Askarov told AzerTAj correspondent that the program indicates the development of 173 countries. Unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia are notably got behind in the HDI. Thus, if Armenia ranked 79th in 2002 this year’s indices made the country fall to the 100th place. Georgia moved from 81st place in 2002 down to 88th in 2003.
