I extend my congratulations to You and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference to start on 1 June in Baku.
Historical progress has been achieved in establishment of the East-West corridor that connects Azerbaijan and other Caspian energy producers with the international markets. In the last ten years, the basic energy development includes completion of over fifty percent of the works in construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, opening of the European markets for Azerbaijan gas and increase of transparency in the activity of the Azerbaijan Oil Fund.
Your efforts in this field are great contributions in establishment of peace, stability, welfare and integration of the region to global markets. The United States stands ready to closely cooperate with You in ensuring energy security and peace of Azerbaijan and the entire region, in establishment of welfare and a democratic future.
