ICDO Secretary-General meets with President of UN Human Rights Council

Arguj Kalantarli, Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) headquartered in Geneva, met with Jürg Lauber, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the United Nations and to the other international organizations in Geneva and President of the UN Human Rights Council for 2025.
Secretary-General Arguj Kalantarli expressed his gratitude to the Swiss government for its support of the organization's activities in Geneva and, on behalf of the ICDO, hailed the existing partnership with the host country.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on enhancing international cooperation in the field of civil defence, particularly in areas such as emergency preparedness and risk management.
Arguj Kalantarli emphasized the importance of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between the ICDO and the relevant institutions of Switzerland.
In his turn, Jürg Lauber highlighted the growing importance of civil defence in the context of global security and sustainable development.
