IN HONOUR OF THE NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF RUSSIA
The plenipotentiary ambassador of the Russian Federation in Azerbaijan Nikolay Ryabov, having welcomed visitors, has dwelt on value of adoption of the Declaration on Sovereignty. He, in particular, has told: “It has been adopted so that Russia has finished with the imperial past to tell to all republics in the former USSR, that we welcome their choice and desire to go the historical way as the sovereign, independent state, to declare that Russia has turned heavy page of the history and has followed a new way of democracy and progress”.
Speaking about the relations of the Russian state with the countries of the world, the Ambassador has especially noted that the relations have developed and with the Azerbaijan Republic. Presidents of two countries ascertained it also during the first official visit of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev to Moscow in February of this year.
Then, N. Ryabov has conveyed congratulations of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to collective of embassy, the visitors on reception, and also wishes of health, successes and well-being.
The diplomat also has especially emphasized, that, observing of actions of the new President of Azerbaijan, it is possible to tell with confidence, that people has made an exact and correct choice, with this leader it will go on the way of progress, democracy and prosperity. Russia will support in every possible way this course and strengthen friendship between our peoples.
Present was at the reception Chairman of Milli Majlis Murtuz Alaskarov, who on behalf of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, on behalf of deputies of parliament and from himself has personally congratulated Russian people with national holiday of the Russian Federation.
The speaker of parliament has emphasized, that the Azerbaijan-Russian relations are based on strong roots and the friendship between our peoples has a centuries-old history. Therefore, after finding independence Azerbaijan always attached great importance to deepening and development of relations with Russia.
M. Alaskarov has noted the special role and merits of our national leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening friendly links of Azerbaijan and Russia, has emphasized that exactly under his initiative this friendship has reached the level of strategic partnership. In detail having stopped on political and economic cooperation between the two countries, Chairman of parliament has especially emphasized, that Azerbaijan always supported territorial integrity of Russia and assigns great hopes for support of Russia in the question of peace settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
At the reception also was present the first vice-chairman of Milli Majlis Arif Rahimzade, head of departments of President Administration Ali Hasanov, Novruz Mammadov, MPs, heads of political parties, ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, other officials.
