The Ministry of Economic Development, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) with the support of Azerbaijan Foundation for Investments Promotion and Advisory held the International Conference on Leasing Development in Azerbaijan, in Hyatt Regency hotel, on May 6-7.

The purpose of the conference is to promote the leasing services market in Azerbaijan and to attract local and foreign investors into this sector.

Topics discussed during the conference were include the problems and perspectives of leasing legislation, investments into the leasing sector, financial aspects of leasing, development of financial services market in Azerbaijan, and taxation of leasing transactions. During the two-day conference also discussed changes in legislation that have positively affected the development of leasing sector in Azerbaijan.

Representatives of the Azerbaijani government, International Organizations, financial institutions, and private sector representatives has participate in the conference.
