INTERNATIONAL CULINARY COMPETITION HELD IN ISTANBUL
Istanbul, Turkey, was the scene recently of an international culinary competition, Azerbaijan National Culinary Center said.
About 1,300 cooks from 20 countries gathered to show off their talents in the areas of food preparation.
Azerbaijan chefs were among those hoping to win the judges` recognition for their food artistry.
Head of the ten-man Azerbaijan team Naila Mursalova said Azerbaijan cooks proudly featured national recipes and managed to bring home a clutch of medals: one gold and four bronzes.
The Azerbaijan side`s best result was posted by Orkhan Mukhtarov who grabbed one gold and two bronze medals, whilst two more bronzes came from Anar Qasimov.
Two other Azerbaijan chefs Vahid Hamidov and Nazim Jafarov ranked fourth.
Director General of the Azerbaijan National Culinary Center Tahir Amiraslanov was among the judges of the competition.
