INT`L SEMINAR ON TOURISM LAUNCHED IN BAKU
The two-day international seminar on tourism, which brought together the representatives of the tourist companies from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Russia commenced April 16 in Baku.
Deputy head of the Regional Representation for Europe of the World Tourism Organization Cordele Wolmuter updated the participants on the statistics of the tourism development in different regions of the world. The highest growth of the tourism was observed in Africa, Middle East and Asia.
Touching on development of the tourism sector in Azerbaijan, WTO representative highly valued the political will of Azerbaijan leadership in this area, which may bring the vast funds into the state budget and opening of the new job places. Participation in WTO project “Great Silk Route” will attract the numerous foreign tourists to Azerbaijan, said WTO representative.
During the first day of the seminar, the participants familiarized with the modern marketing policy in the tourism area.
