Japanese government implements another project in Oguz district
Oguz, June 26 (AZERTAC). A hand-over ceremony has been held as part of the “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” in Bujag village of Oguz district, Azerbaijan.
Japanese ambassador to Azerbaijan Tsuguo Takahashi and Deputy Head of the Oguz Executive Authority attended the event.
The grant contract for the project was signed between the Embassy of Japan and the NGO “Yaddash Enlightener Youth Social Union” on February 6, 2014.
The Project for Construction of Medical Point aimed to construct a new medical point with appropriate medical equipment in order to improve the quality of medical services for the residents of Bujag village and three more neighboring villages.
The total amount of the Japanese Grant Assistance for the project is $121,121. “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance” support projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Azerbaijani people. Such projects might be implemented in the field of poverty reduction, social protection, infrastructure, public health and increase of incomes. The total number of projects contracted in Azerbaijan including this project is 183, and the amount is $15,305,706.
The total amount of Japan’s Official Development Assistance provided for the Republic of Azerbaijan is over USD 1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, cultural field as well as human capacity development.
