LEGAL COOPERATION EXPANDS
Members of the delegation first visited the tomb of nation-wide leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev to express deep respect to the memory of the genial person, who had made invaluable contributions to the development of the relations between the two countries. The guest also visited the Lane of Martyrs to revere the memory of shehids who had given their lives for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and laid a wreath at memorial “Eternal File”.
During the delegation’s meeting with Minister Fikrat Mammadov and the Ministry officials, the parties have held a fruitful exchange of views on legal cooperation noting that the document signed in this sphere would contribute to further deepening relations between the two countries.
Later, a ceremony of signing cooperation Memo was held. The Ministers noted the importance of the document for both strengthening legal cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran and development of links between the two Ministries.
In the framework of the visit, familiarization of the Iranian delegation with activities of local judicial bodies and visiting penal jurisdictions are expected.
On the same day, Minister of Justice of Iran Mohammad Esmaeil Shushtari met Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Azerbaijan Republic Farhad Abdullayev, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and Minister of National Security Namig Abbasov.
