“MCDERMOTT CASPIAN CONTRACTORS” MODERNIZES DIVING BOAT

McDermott Caspian Contractors has begun refurbishing the diving boat “Tofig Ismayilov”, BP-Azerbaijan said. According to the company’s Vice-president Nil Show, the boat will have been repaired by early summer and cost $35 million. Further, it will be used to lay a fibro-optic cable on the seabed. McDermott Caspian Contractors earlier performed BP’s orders for modernization of Azerbaijani pipe-lay ship “Israfil Huseynov” and three auxiliary ships of “Caspmorneftflot”. The contract was worth $40 million then. These ships laid pipeline on the seabed from the “Chirag” field to Sangachal terminal.
