MEETING AT THE BAKU SLAVONIC UNIVERSITY
Mr. Yuri Luzhkov and his entourage have visited the Center of Russian cultural-educational center and attended the Russian language lesion.
At the conference hall the heads of University welcomed the guests, updated on the structure and activities of the University, expressed gratitude for assistance of opening the Center of the Russian and Slavonic culture.
Mr. Yuri Luzhkov thanked for warm reception underlining that the University conducts huge work in teaching of the Russian language and said that it is necessary for preservation of cultural space, which has been formed during many years.
Slavonic University of Baku was opened on Decree of President Heydar Aliyev whom I regard with great respect and honor, Mr. Luzhkov emphasized. The University is famous in the Russian Federation. Major is that the University implements ideas of Heydar Aliyevich. Despite the change in geo-political situation, the cultural and economic links should be certainly preserved.
Mayor of Moscow expressed readiness to render direct assistance in organization of probation of students and tutors, conducting conferences, seminars, and symposiums.
The Mayor of Moscow was presented memorial gifts.
