MEETING IN INTERIOR MINISTRY
The Minister informed the guest in detail on criminogenic situation in Azerbaijan, and told of the work carried out in the country to strengthening democratic principles in police activities, ensuring human rights and freedoms.
Touching professional skills of police officers, the Minister R. Usubov pointed out importance of workshop-trainings conducted with the Council of Europe’s assistance, and announced on opening special training course at the Police Academy.
Having stressed that human rights protection has turned into one of the priority directions of the Interior Ministry’s activity, Mr. Ramil Usubov drew the guest’s attention to serious measures undertaken against any breach of the law by police officers and concrete facts of their punishment.
Thanking the Minister for the warm meeting and detailed information, Mr. Andreas Gross expressed confidence that all done for building legal and democratic state, would turn Azerbaijan into more developed country, and the law enforcement bodies would cope with their tasks.
A number of other issues of mutual interest was discussed during the meeting, as well.
