MEETING IN SUPREME MAJLIS OF NAKHCHIVAN AR
Warmly greeting the delegation, chairman Supreme Majlis has emphasized, that during work in our Republic, Ambassador Chantal Poiret has gained deep respect, has expressed regret that this year she would finish her diplomatic mission and leave Azerbaijan. He also stated that during his mission she has made valuable contribution to development of the Azerbaijan-French relations.
Having expressed satisfaction for the hospitality, she was shown in Nakhchivan, and shared her impressions about the trip in historical places of this ancient area, ambassador Chantal Poiret has emphasized that she was admired by splendid sights of this land.
Having stated that it is great honor for her to be on the native land of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the diplomat highly estimated the affairs, which the outstanding world politician Heydar Aliyev has carried out for Azerbaijani people, has noted that she feels deep grief on his death. She reminded her meetings with President Heydar Aliyev, adding that it is pleased that today Mr. Ilham Aliyev continued the policy of the national leader of Azerbaijan in all fields.
Mr. Vasif Talibov has addressed the Ambassador with request to convey the government of France his gratitude for the support rendered to Azerbaijan after presidential elections in our country. Chairman of Supreme Majlis told: “President Ilham Aliyev has made the visit first after elections to the French Republic, and during this visit, President of France has shown deep honor to Azerbaijan, the head of Azerbaijani state. It is the beginning of a new stage of friendship between our countries.
At the meeting passed in a friendly and business atmosphere, the visitors have been informed about economic and social status of the Autonomous Republic in conditions of the difficulties created by known blockade, discussed were the opportunities of investment by France into separate spheres.
Ambassador Chantal Poiret thanked for warm meeting, stating that she would do the utmost in this direction.
