Mexico’s ambassador to Iran evacuated

The evacuation of foreign diplomats through the Astara State Border Checkpoint continues. This evening, Guillermo Alejandro Puente Ordorica, Ambassador of Mexico to Iran, was safely evacuated to the territory of Azerbaijan.
According to AZERTAC’s regional correspondent, the ambassador told media representatives that Azerbaijan is a friendly country and noted the existence of bilateral relations between Mexico and Azerbaijan.
Earlier in the evening, seven Mexican diplomats and their family members were also evacuated through the border checkpoint.
