A joint meeting of the Milli Majlis Standing Commissions on Science and Education Affairs, Human Rights, Legal Policy and State Building Affairs and Economic Policy focused on the draft law On Legal Protection of Databases, April 21.

Head of the working group, Chairman of the Republican Agency for Intellectual Property Rights Kamran Imanov updated the meeting participants on the idea, importance and topicality of the law.

Members of the commissions, the working group and specialists noted that the present draft protects reliability of databases, and fully meets the Council of Europe’s directives.

Certain remarks and proposals with respect to the document have also been advanced during the debate.

The participants of the joint meeting have decided to submit the draft law for discussion to the Milli Majlis.
