MODERN CUSTOMS WAREHOUSE COMMISSIONED NEAR BAKU
As was informed from the press-service of the State Customs Committee, the manager of the project Robert Torrance in his remarks at the ceremony carried out in this case has expressed satisfaction in connection with the beginning of activity in Azerbaijan the first customs warehouse. As he said, 95 percent working here are citizens of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Robert Torrance, having informed, that works in the field of international trade and transport already more than 50 years, has regarded opening the customs warehouse as result of purposeful activity of the President of Azerbaijan. In his opinion, this warehouse also is one of the major factors, testifying that Azerbaijan has turned to the international trading and transport corridor. From here onward, cargoes of Iran and Georgia will be transported. This customs warehouse will promote the same promotion what have achieved in due time in Dubai, Notre Dame and Liverpool, having created similar free trading zones.
Having thanked the management of the State Customs Committee for the rendered help, "Murphy's" executive director Rauf Mammadov has noted, that due to purposeful policy which basis has been founded by our national leader Heydar Aliyev and which now successfully is continued by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, our country day by day develops, our economy becomes stronger. Chairman of State Customs Committee Kamaladdin Heydarov, having estimated opening of the first customs warehouse as the important event in the history of the Azerbaijan customs house and, as a whole, in the history of economic development of our country, has characterized it as one of fine results of the national economic program. "Murphy" is one of the most reliable companies cooperating with the Azerbaijan customs house since 1994 to this day. Having shown the skill, this Company has constructed and has put in operation in Azerbaijan such remarkable warehouse, he stressed.
Then, after Chairman of State Customs Committee Kamaladdin Heydarov and the ambassador of the Great Britain in our country Lawrence Bristow have cut the red ribbon symbolizing opening of warehouse, participants of ceremony have in details familiarized with the customs warehouse.
