Baku, February 8, AZERTAC
The observation mission of the Moroccan parliament held a press conference on Thursday to discuss the outcomes of the Azerbaijani snap presidential election held on February 7.
Thami Owazzani Touhami, a member of the House of Representatives of the Moroccan Parliament, highlighted that for the first time in the history of independent Azerbaijan, an election was conducted in territories liberated from Armenian occupation. He said that he had witnessed transparency and high voter turnout in 13 polling stations he observed.
"Everything here was organized perfectly. This indicates the great potential and ability of CEC. In the elections, the voters could freely express their will and vote for the candidate they wanted," said the Moroccan deputy.
He emphasized observing the election conducted in accordance with democratic procedures and international standards
Touhami further noted, "The CEC demonstrated a serious approach to the election process and conducted everything properly. Overall, we did not encounter any irregularities that could impact the voting process in the polling stations we observed. We congratulate the people of Azerbaijan on the successful completion of the election. Indeed, there was much to learn from the election here. I wish success to the elected President, as well as well-being, peace, and significant development to the people of Azerbaijan."
