Azerbaijan Neftchi`s hopes of avenging its 3-1 defeat by SV Ried have not been materialized as they beat the Austrian club 2-1 but lost 4-3 on aggregate at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku on Thursday.

Neftchi won the first half 2-0 thanks to Branimir Subasic`s and Rashad Sadiqov`s goals in the 14th and 22nd minutes respectively.

In the 82nd minute, Neftchi`s captain Zaur Tagizade was given a red card.

A few minutes later, Ried scored a goal that meant that the Azeri club had to add one more to send the game into extra-time.

But Neftchi`s strikers failed to gladden their fans once again, and Bulgarian referee Hristo Ristoskov`s final whistle ended Neftchi`s UEFA cup run.
