During the conversation, discussed were questions of integration of Azerbaijan in the Euro-Atlantic structures. The visitor has noted, that due to development of the legislation in our country, fulfillment of the obligations taken by the Republic, this process even more will be sped up, that will benefit both parties.
Speaking about the intention to conduct in the Republic seminars on the topic “Policy of national security of Azerbaijan: new challenges and responses”, Mr. Wilhelm Herman has told, that in this action participation of high rank officials is desirable. These seminars can be carried out in the beginning of July and late September, or at the end of October.
Having approved the proposals of the visitor to conduct seminars in Azerbaijan, Ziyafet Askerov has estimated carrying out of these actions after the Istanbul summit of the NATO as the positive phenomenon. He noted that the Nagorny Karabakh of Azerbaijan, occupied by the Armenian armed forces, is uncontrolled territory and therefore from this area passes a transit way for trafficking of narcotics and terrorist groups. He noted, that the Nagorny Karabakh conflict became the international question. This OSCE Minsk Group has been engaged in this problem for many years.
The parties had exchange of a range of issues of mutual interest.
