PARLIAMENT NEWS
The Milli Majlis standing commission on regional issues held a sitting on 23 August. Chair of the Commission Zahid Garalov familiarized its members with the plan of the work to be done by the structure in the course of the Parliament’s fall session. The plan envisions submitting the draft laws “On Joint Activities of Municipalities and Institutions of Local Government”, “On Status of the Member of Local Polling Commission”, “On Observer’s Rights Concerning Local Polling”, “On Social Security for Municipal Employees” and other laws, conducting various events covering the scope of the commission’s activities.
Deputy Chair Shaitdin Aliyev provided information on the results of the Commission’s activities during the 2004 spring session.
The Commission members also discussed the introducing partial amendments to administrative and territorial division of 18 towns and regions including Imishli, Zagatala, Gedabey, Agjabadi etc., and decided to submit the issue to the parliament for discussion.
