PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV MEETS WITH PRIME MINISTER OF HUNGARY FERENC GYURCSÁNY
On January 23, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Prime Minister of Hungary Ferenc Gyurcsány at the Turmhotel Victoria in Davos, Switzerland.
Hungarian Premier said he closely watched the processes taking place in Azerbaijan and that he was impressed by the country’s achievements over the past few years. He added that Hungary was very interested in expansion and deepening of cooperation with Azerbaijan in all fields.
President Aliyev and Prime Minister Gyurcsány exchanged views on cooperation in energy field, with an emphasis put on Nabucco gas pipeline project.
The Azerbaijani leader mentioned that Azerbaijan needs support of Hungary as the European Union member when it comes to some issues related to his country’s cooperation with this organization.
Ferenc Gyurcsány underlined that Hungary supports Azerbaijan both in terms of its cooperation with the European Union and in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
