PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV SENDS GREETINGS TO PARTICIPANTS IN ELEVENTH EURASIAN ECONOMIC SUMMIT
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a message of greetings to participants in the Eleventh Eurasian Economic Summit.
The message reads:
Esteemed organizers of the Summit,
I extend to you, the participants of the Eleventh Eurasian Economic Summit, my heartfelt greetings and best wishes for success in your work.
The summit meetings annually held under the aegis of the Turkish government, play important part in development of economic, political and cultural relations between our states and peoples.
Attendance of high-ranking delegates from Europe, Asia and Africa and representatives of international organizations has a positive impact on building friendly and cooperative relations in the region.
The leadership of Azerbaijan has always attached a great significance to the economic summits organized by the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation.
The nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev had always highly valued the Eurasian economic summit meetings for their contribution to strengthening economic, political and cultural ties, development of relations among Turkish-speaking states and enhancing regional cooperation.
You can be confident that steadily continuing this course, the present-day leadership of Azerbaijan will use all existing possibilities to promote development of bilateral and regional cooperation and ensure peace and security in the region.
The realities of the contemporary world have necessitated the establishment of close economic, energy and cultural cooperation among states and peoples, and their joint fight against aggressive separatism, terror and global threats.
The energy, industry, trade, tourism and peace problems to be discussed at the summit meeting in the context of the globalization and integration processes are of particular interest.
Today, Turkey and Azerbaijan are strategic allies, with relations between them successfully developing in all areas. Turkey and Azerbaijan are active and sincere participants in the process of regional cooperation. We are taking full advantage of the two countries’ economic and energy capabilities and geopolitical positions for expansion of the bilateral and regional cooperation.
Azerbaijan is currently establishing close economic and cultural ties with countries of the region and the world, and is one of the main organizers of a number of international economic, energy, transport and communications projects.
The largest modern constructions such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline delivering Azerbaijani gas to European markets, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad to be commissioned soon, are vivid example of regional and international cooperation.
These projects’ reaching their full capacity will change the look of the whole region and will serve prosperity and progress of the people living here.
Once again, I wish the Summit success, and hope it will contribute to regional and international cooperation.
