PRESIDENT OF IRAN RECEIVED FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov welcomed the honored guest on behalf of the government of Republic.
During conversation, with feeling of satisfaction it has been marked that visit of the President of Iran to our country passes at high level. It has been especially underlined, that the carried out negotiations and the signed documents would serve interests of peoples of both countries.
Having stopped on the impressions about visit, the President of Iran Mohammad Khatami has told: “To make visit to Azerbaijan and to honor Heydar Aliyev’s world-wide memory was my old dream. Thanks to Allah, this desire has come true. Mr. Khatami has emphasized, that never would forget the warm meetings with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Highly having estimated the visit to Azerbaijan, President Mohammad Khatami has declared, that his visit to Baku has special value from the point of view of the decision during the carried out negotiations of the questions expressing will of heads and peoples of two countries.
At the meeting it has been underlined that official visit of the head of Iran to Azerbaijan can be characterized as turning point in development of relations between our countries.
Then, was held exchange of views on a number of questions representing mutual interest.

The same day, President of Iran Mohammad Khatami received minister of economic development of Azerbaijan Farhad Aliyev.
Having stopped on the carried out meetings with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and the signed documents, the honored guest has noted, that on the Ministry of economic development the big responsibility also lays in connection with agreements and memorandums, which serve expansion of economic relations. Mr. Khatami has expressed hope that shortly peoples of both countries would see fruits of his visit to Baku.
Minister Farhad Aliyev has emphasized, that visit of the President of Iran to Azerbaijan would give a special pulse to development of cooperation between the close and friendly countries in the field of economy.
